A recent decision by your board of directors has led to the formation of a new program within Tailhook to better serve our members. As always, a continuing flow of information and ideas from all levels of our membership is what makes Tailhook strong and responsive.
The Tailhook Association has established a new program to increase and improve communication between the active-duty Navy junior officer leadership, the Tailhook Association’s board of directors and its headquarters.
The board has approved a group of our members for initial membership in the Tailhook Strike Force. The purpose of the Strike Force is to introduce a meaningful cross section of active-duty leaders to the annual operations of the Tailhook Association. In return, the Strike Force will work to increase Tailhook Association active-duty membership and provide recommendations and other ideas to the board of directors. In that vein, I have listed a thumbnail of what that cross section might look like, including the initial five names.
The Board of Directors wishes to complete the list by filling in the missing names. If you are a current member and wish to support the Tailhook Association in an important way, please contact the Association president, CAPT D.A. “Roy” Rogers, USN, by mail at the Tailhook headquarters.
Positions representing the East Coast strike-fighter (VFA) community, the sea control (VS) community and the fighter (VF) community are currently vacant.
